Power can drive behaviors and can be simply classified into Personal Power and Position Power. When influencing others, position power is necessary but should not be used up. Unless the position power is very clearly defined, it is recommended to use only 90% of it and leaving 10% as buffer. If you use it up every time, it is easy to reach the critical point where it may cause misunderstandings easily, and even results in criticism for abuse of power, so it is always necessary to maintain high sensitivity to your position power. Personal power includes charisma (ie, personal characters and physical characters) and reference power (i.e., experience and professionalism). Some people, despite their lack of position powers, can call on others with their personal powers, especially in times of crisis and desperation.

Prof. Larry’s advice:There is limit for position power, but personal power can be infinite. Therefore, we can continue to cultivate personal power to increase our influence.
